T-Based Lathe Design/Build/Test

2.70: Fundamentals of Precision Product Design is an MIT course that focuses on the design process for a precision machine system; in this case, a T-based lathe. This is accomplished by applying deterministic machine design methods: predicting error motions, appropriately modeling the system using fundamental physics, selecting and integrating machine elements, designing and fabricating components, and using accurate metrology to close the design loop.

The class equips its students with the tools needed to critically examine a wide variety of physical systems and quickly assess their governing physics, as seen in the Seek + Geek pages.
