2.810: Manufacturing Processes and Systems is a course focused on providing an understanding of a broad range of manufacturing processes. Fundamental physical principles, economics, materials, and industry best practices are covered and combined into a picture of how manufacturing systems are designed, used, and optimized. The course also involves a semester-long team project to design, fabricate, and race a set of remote controlled vehicles, thus providing hands-on insights into design for manufacturing, assembly, and performance.
